In
December 2007, the Internal Revenue
Service released the final version
of the new, redesigned Form 990,
the annual information return
filed by certain tax-exempt organizations
including publicly supported
charities. The new form raises
a number of new issues for charities
in the areas of financial reporting,
governance, executive compensation,
